Marketing on the web, for many people, means being able to get to the top of Google rankings for a particular set of keywords. There’s obviously much more, but this page will give you a start: http://www.google.com/webmasters/
Also try searching for the term: Search Engine Optimization.
1) You want to identify a small number of keywords that you think people will type into search engines. There are websites like wordtracker.com that will help you select the most effective keywords.
2) Write copy on your site that uses these terms at a rate between 5% and 8% of the total word count.
3) Put the terms in the page titles and links within the site.
4) Make a sitemap page.
5) Start a link-building campaign that will provide in-links to your site. The googlebot gives you a better ranking if other pages point to you. Use directories like Yahoo and other listings related to your product.
6) Consider a pay-per-click campaign for the sponsored links that appear on the google results page. You identify keywords just like in step 1, except you also have an account with Google and you bid on those keywords. Your paid ad will appear when people type your keyword(s) as long as you have outbid the competition.
7) Track your site visits using a free tool like Google Analytics.
There is SO much more to learn and I`ve only touched the high points. Buy a book about search engine marketing. There are even Dummies titles available.

Yes use ebay. fridge magnets are the no 1. product for repeat customers. As a business card ppl just get and throw it anyway. magnets everyone thinks "oh fridge" and there its stays where the can remember you. Also delievering flyers in your local area can help to. Tell friends to tell ppl about you. Just curious as to what you are selling also…

Henry,
The only advice I can offer to you is; there is no real easy answer. Most of the programs out there are crap, some will get you into trouble with the search engines…getting your site tagged as a spammer.
You will find that some of the best, most effective marketing anyone can perform for their site will always be to write articles and submit those articles to sites like EzineArticles.
I currently own 10 websites and the company that built the sites for me does all of the marketing for me too. I will be happy to provide some contact info; perhaps they can suggest somebody for you…maybe they will do it for you.
Also, got to Youtube and search the name ‘purewebdev’. This is the guy that built and markets my sites.
I write about marketing, and the time it takes before you will start to see a regular flow of traffic to your site…be not discouraged cause it takes time.
Read my blog, and leave me a comment. Read my profile.
Good Luck!

I see a few good suggestions in the answers above. Here is my two cents worth.
Online business is all about branding. You are not selling your service or products, you are selling you. With that in mind here are a few ideas.
1. Participate in online forums, i can think of two worth checking out.
http://www.work-at-home-forum.com is one good one.
http://www.thehomebusinessforum.com gives a list of lots of good forums to visit. If you are in MLM, this one http://www.mlmforums.com is excellent.
2. Write articles, sumit them to online publishers like ezine. This will get you branded quickly.
3. http://www.wtpowers.com/36604 This site has lots of great online marketing tools you can use, and it is not very expensive.
4. Until you have achieved branding, you may want to consider purchasing leads, there are good and not so good leads vendors out there.
Email me with contact information and i can give you some more suggestions. There are lots of ways to market your business (yourself) that do not cost a fortune. I can help you, if you like.

Promote It. Brand It.
I’ve seen these answers touched on, but a bit more:
1. Promotion, it’s either going to take time or money:
Time: Get active in gamer forums, blog about new games, write articles about video games, host a gaming forum.
Money: Paid banners, search marketing, and pay others to do the above.
Ranking high in the search engines takes a lot of work and a lot of time. Don’t depend on this because you will give up before having success. You’ll go further by getting involved in gaming forums and other social media avenues while at the same time building the popularity and worth of your site.
2. Brand, it’s more than a logo.
Something I don’t yet see when I look at your site.
Why will people buy from you instead of someone else?
What is unique about your selling position?
Are you going to brand yourself as the lowest prices?
The one stop resource for games and gaming reviews?
Best service?
Sales contact through popular gaming services?
Are you going to promote one game per month and have a newsletter subscription for that game?
Be the best at something and let people know you for that.
