Does anybody know what the average high/low car ins. costs for 16-year-old boy in Texas?

Hi! Glad you're here!

Take a moment and check out my favorite sites!

We are trying to explain to our almost 16-year-old son how expensive his car insurance will be, but I can’t find anything on the web to prove it to him. I would settle for just an high/low average to show him.

call your ins co and ask them to help you explain how much your son will be paying because of his age they should be able to tell you or just tell him that the reason that 16 yr olds and other young drivers have to pay so much is because they are considered a high risk because they are assumed to not know how to take their responsibilities seriously : drinking and driving, partying and driving trying to look cool so they drive faster, letting other people drive, they are a high risk so they pay more the older you get the less you pay be cause older people are assumed to be more responsible

when i was 17 my ins. was $120 a month for liability on a peace of junk car. today i’d say it would be more like $150 to $200 per month depending on his driving record and car.

Just log into progressive.com, take the vin off of one of your vehicles, and run a quote for him. I bet it’s $3,000 to $5,000 depending on your coverage.
